# Daily Templates

1. **Define templates**

Markdown snippets a workspace turns into real Logs automatically —
one per enabled template — from `/settings/templates`.
2. **Pick when they apply**

`today_only` (default), or `any_visited_day` for backfilling old
   days.
3. **They apply once per day**

Reopening the same day never creates duplicates — there's no manual
   "apply" button.

A workspace can define templates — markdown snippets that get turned into real logs automatically, one new log per enabled template, so a recurring standup note or checklist doesn't have to be typed out every day.

## When templates apply

Every workspace has a template mode, set from `/settings/templates`:

- **`today_only`** (default) — templates only generate logs for the actual current day. Opening an old day never backfills logs onto it.
- **`any_visited_day`** — templates generate for whatever day you open the board on, the first time you open it. Useful for filling in a day retroactively.

Either way, a given `(workspace, day)` pair only ever applies its templates once — reopening the same day doesn't create duplicates. This check runs automatically every time the day board loads; there's no manual "apply" button.

## Enabling and disabling

A template can be toggled off without deleting it — a disabled template is skipped when a day applies, but stays around to re-enable later.
