# Deploy with Docker

Docker is the primary and recommended way to run Loggo. The official image is lightweight and comes with everything you need.

1. **Create a volume**

   Loggo needs a persistent directory to store your SQLite database and mirrored Markdown files.
2. **Run the container**

   Pass the volume to the container via the `-v` flag.
3. **Open the app**

   Navigate to your server's IP or `localhost:3000` to set up your owner account.

## Prerequisites

- A server with Docker installed
- A directory to mount as your data volume

## Docker Run

```sh title="Terminal"
docker run -d \
  --name loggo \
  -p 3000:3000 \
  -v /path/to/your/data:/app/data \
  ghcr.io/loggo-dev/loggo:latest
```

> **Data persistence**
>
> Make sure you map a volume to `/app/data`. Loggo writes its SQLite database, user settings, and markdown files there. If you don't mount a volume, all your notes will be lost when the container stops!

## Docker Compose

If you prefer `docker-compose.yml`:

```yaml title="docker-compose.yml"
version: '3.8'
services:
  loggo:
image: ghcr.io/loggo-dev/loggo:latest
container_name: loggo
restart: unless-stopped
ports:
  - "3000:3000"
volumes:
  - ./loggo_data:/app/data
```
