# Workspaces

Reading and writing a specific workspace's data (logs, tags, tasks, attachments, templates) is covered in [Logs](/api/logs) and [Workspace Data](/api/workspace-data). This page is just the one route for discovering *which* workspaces you're in.

Creating a shared workspace, renaming one, or changing its members is an admin-only action — see [Admin → Workspaces](/api/admin#workspaces).

## `GET /api/workspaces`

Every workspace the signed-in user is a member of: their own Personal workspace, plus any shared workspace an admin has added them to. This is the same list returned by [`GET /api/auth/me`](/api/auth#get-apiauthme).

**Response**

```json
{
  "workspaces": [
{ "id": "...", "slug": "personal-demo", "name": "Personal", "color": "bg-blue-500", "icon": "gallery", "kind": "personal", "templateMode": "today_only", "role": "owner" },
{ "id": "...", "slug": "platform-team", "name": "Platform Team", "color": "bg-violet-500", "icon": "server", "kind": "shared", "templateMode": "today_only", "role": "member" }
  ]
}
```

`role` is `owner` for the workspace's creator, `member` for everyone else added to it. A Personal workspace always has exactly one member and can't take more.
